Science Outside the Lab
Science Outside the Lab (SOtL) provides graduate students across the United States front row access to science and technology decision-making in Washington D.C. The program is offered by the Center for Engagement and Training in Science and Society (CENTSS).
The lab invites graduate students from STEM fields to spend two weeks fully immersed in how science policy is made. Participants interact with congressional staffers, funding agencies, regulators, lobbyists, and more. They gain insight and access to pathways into civic careers that advance meaningful socio-technical outcomes.
