Southwest Regional Direct Air Capture Hub

Arizona State University and a team of its collaborators received funding from the U.S. Department of Energy to develop a regional Direct Air Capture Hub for removing carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere. The team will prepare to build a multisite Direct Air Capture Hub located in the Four Corners area of the Southwestern United States. The team’s goal is to be a test bed for carbon capture, utilization and storage in the Southwest. The project also lays the foundation for a new industry that can provide much-needed employment and a robust tax base for rural communities.
