CapaCITY is part of the School for the Future of Innovation in Society’s Center for the Study of Futures. The program embraces cities’ role in climate resilience and takes a prospective look at urban systems, energy systems, and environmental challenges with a goal of engagement, training, and knowledge sharing.

CapaCity generates and shares climate tools and knowledge across municipalities through collaborative engagements and trainings. In the 2017 pilot year, engagements took place in four cities across three countries (Germany, Mexico, and the United States). Each training generated sustainability and resilience solutions that enabled participants to become future-ready.

Pilot year insights are being used to generate best practices that are place-sensitive. The project will be adapted in its second year to address GSCO member cities across the world.
